After a service on this 2021 Vauxhall Vivaro the service spanner light was still showing on the dashboard — the van was displaying as overdue for a service even though one had just been done. This is a one-minute reset using just the dashboard button, no diagnostic tool needed.

Confirm the Service Light is On
Turn the ignition on (don't start the engine). You'll see the spanner service light on the dashboard — this Vivaro was showing as overdue. Locate the arrow and spanner button on your dashboard or stalk — this is what you'll use to trigger the reset.
Turn the Ignition Fully Off
Turn the ignition fully off before starting the procedure. The sequence must begin from ignition off — not from a running engine.
Hold the Button & Turn Ignition On
Press and hold the arrow/spanner button. While still holding it, turn the ignition on to position two (don't start the engine). Keep holding the button — a countdown from 10 to zero will appear on the dashboard display.
Wait for Re-initialisation Done
Once the countdown reaches zero the screen confirms "Re-initialisation done." Release the button — the service interval has been successfully reset.
Cycle the Ignition to Confirm
Turn the ignition off then back on. The service spanner light should now be gone. Start the engine to confirm the dashboard is clear. Job done.
